Default Hotel recommendations required

We are looking to stop in Dubai for a few days later in the year, and would like to know of any hotel recommendations, obviously we know about places like the Burj Al Arab etc, but thats a bit too expensive for a three or four night stay. We would like to be in the thick of things (I have no idea how big Dubai is, so there could be several places in the thick of it) Any advice greatly appreciated.

The Jumeriah Beach hotel is ideal. It is five star but slightly cheaper than a lot of the other 5 star hotels, also it's ideal if you have kids. It right next to the Burj and the Wild Wadi water park (which you'll get free admission to of you stay there) and the added advantage of being near the beach and many amenties.

There are so many hotels in Dubai it really depends what you are looking for and what your budget is. If you are after a beach hotel as someone mentioned Jumeirah Beach Hotel is very nice, Hilton beach is good too - you would be fine in almost any of the beach hotels. Any of the hotels on Sheikh Zayed Rd are also OK, some more expensive than others, if you stay at Emirates Towers Hotel you can use the beach / facilities at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and I think also Jumeirah Beach Club. You may also want to consider hotel apts. if you have kids the fridge/ basic cooking facilities may be useful.

Wherever you stay you will have a fantastic time !
