Red face Home schooling in Doha

Hi can anyone give me advice on home-schooling in Doha? I hear the schools are a bit of a nightmare to get in to initially and wondered if anyone has any info about home - schooling or could point me in the right direction

You should try posting in Doha Mums as the home school mums are probably members and would help you out. Otherwise I can suggest seeing if your local state/country education system has a distance learning option/school and contact them to enrol, they would then supply you with activities etc

I homeschooled my son using the K12 method. It was fantastic. I would highly recommend it. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Hi I hope you can give me some open minded but honest advice. I have just been offered a post £17500 PCM accommodation car cost support annual flight home school cost support. I have heard allot about the cost of living and how ban it is to live out there as a family. Any advice if this is manageable and a good move.

I feel that you will be stretched and not have a good time, no matter which country you are posted to.

Any other opinions by the way it is 17500qr PCM. Why so blunt with being stretched and not have a good time.

Qatar is notoriously expensive , make sure you do your sums correctly . Its not the place to be if you're struggling to make ends meet .

Depends what your allowances are and what type of lifestyle you want to have. Some people live quite comfortably on that salary - others would struggle. Try using one of the online calculators to work out what your costs would be and see if its worth it. Accommodation - try propertyfinder.qa to get an idea as for schools - budget at least 30000 - 40000qr per child per year for primary more for secondary, although that is mid-range you can find places that are much more expensive or cheaper.
