Hold The Front Page!
Firstly...
Tortoise kidnapped
The owner of a 35-kilo tortoise says she fears her pet has been kidnapped, and is appealing for help. Shona Deans said maintenance workers saw two men lift the enormous creature into a black 4x4 outside her house in Al Barsha before speeding off.
“I can’t understand what kind of a person would steal a tortoise,” said Briton Deans. “The gardener left the gate open and the poor tortoise had no chance.” Deans lives on a rarely used road, and believes the men must have come especially for the tortoise, named Zeus.
And Then.....
Tortoise Found
A 35-kilo tortoise, feared kidnapped, has been recovered by its owner from a veterinarian hospital on Al Wasl Road.
“Apparently, people found it wandering the road and were nice enough to take care of it for two weeks but when they could do it anymore they brought it to the vet,” Shona Deans said.
“Honestly, the vet’s office was the last place I expected it to turn up in,” she added. Shona said the tortoise is back home safe and sound.
Don't you just love this place!!
