HK to AD worth it ?
 

Hello

Working in HK and have offer with one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in IT department in Abu Dhabi. Could someone provide insight on how stable is IT job in government wealth funds in UAE ?
got around 30% of increment on my current salary and cost of living seems to be bit less compared to HK.

It should be quite stable, with decent benefits and stability.

i just moved the other way (Dubai to HK), after having spent the last 4 years in Dubai.

Thanks for insights. Will it be difficult to find a job in other countries from AD or Dubai in case if it did not work out for me?

You could always move to other countries in the Gulf or look outside.

I'm too sure, as there is not too much info on your background are you from HK originally or you went to HK to work as an expat?

I am from India originally and working as an expat in HK. Never been to gulf region earlier and bit worried if SWE in sovereign wealth fund would be stable or not.

I think it should be okay, it may be harder to come back to Asia later the longer that you stay but it also opens up proximity to other Gulf countries if you like it over there. I enjoyed my time in Dubai so wouldn’t say no if future opportunities came about.
