hilton in doha ?

Hi all,

I need to visit Doha early next year and I normally stay at Hilton Hotels - HHonors points and all that - I am astonished that there doesnt seem to be one in Doha ? There is at least one of every other hotel brand conceivable !!

I guess I can put up with the Ritz-C , but I just find it strange.

what kind of reply you were after mate? if there isn't a hilton in doha then moaning about having to stay in Ritz Carlton on the bored is hardly likely to magically sprout one out of the ground in the next 6 months is it?

The Hilton's under construction , might be open in the next 6 months , it's marked for opening before xmas.

There is zero difference in any of them here , they're all the same standard Gulf hotels, boring and shite....!

Re: hilton in doha ?

i wasnt moaning, i just found it very strange in a city that has virtually every luxury hotel brand at least once, there wasnt a Hilton, arguably the most recognisable name in the hotel business.

what i didnt need what someone coming on telling me that it was a shitehole. but reading through his posts it would appear that something awful has happened to him in Doha in the past as he regularly goes on qatar threads to declare the place a shithole.

anyway, I found out a lot of interesting stuff about hiltons seemigly cursed attempts to build a hotel in Doha by the power of google. It would appear they have been trying since about 2003 to build one...

Sharq (Ritz-owned) is the best place to stay in Doha, hands down.

And it's not dry!
