I pay around 5,000 AED a year for water and electricity for a three bed, two bathroom small villa in Abu Dhabi. Internet costs me 250 AED a month and my phone bill is probably around the same, especially if I remember to only call internationally on a Friday when its cheaper. Also remember to factor in for your mobile phone which is probably another 100 AED a month for me. I dont have a TV so cant quote on that and I pay more in housing costs per year but I know the prices have stabilised a little and Al Ain is cheaper.

Also, 70 AED for petrol - is this a month? I spend this roughly every 10 days in my Jeep. Petrol has gone up twice recently and looks set to increase again. I drive around 40 kilometers to and from work, plus bits and pieces and fill up roughly every 10-12 days; more if I do an off road trip. No - as long as you are away for at least 1 whole tax year you do not pay any tax on the whole period you are away. At least that's my understanding :) Have a look here:

It works out around 5K a year - I have split units but am good about not running them all/all that often as I prefer, whenever possible, to have windows and doors open. Water - there is only me in the house so minimal use of washer/dishwasher and prefer showers to a bath. In my old flat in Khalidiya, I only paid around 500 AED a YEAR for water and elec and nothing for gas. Sob. |

yeh split units are much better, much prefer them as they dont spread the dust around and they are more economical. |
