Help needed- rental nightmare :(

Re: Help needed- rental nightmare :(
Some people prefer to share with others rather than live alone.
Some people might like to maximise their savings (regardless of how 'cheap' rent is now and in real world terms it's still a rip-off).
If I was single i'd prefer to be sharing than coming home to an empty studio / 1 bed.

As previous posters have stated, special K's money has gone. No matter what she does, she ain't getting it back.
In terms of Seven Seas recommendations, I would do everything that could be done to wreck their home in a stealth like manner that can never be attributed back to you. You've lost your 12k, its your opportunity to get value for money.
No text messages, no broken locks, nothing that can easily be brought back to you. At the same time, use every single opportunity to create complete and utter horror.
Get your stuff out of there as soon as physically possible, as damage to your stuff will be next on your list.
You are obviously living with childlike people, the way to win is to get everything you own out of the way so they cannot score any more points, then play them at your own game.

I don't think SpecialK has what it takes to pplay this combo game of Chicken/Blackmail with the two psycho Sisters.
Why not? There is a severe deficiency in her descriptions: no handfuls of hair, no heads smashed against coffee tables, no broken teeth, no facial scars.

I would be telling Cruella and her Sister that you will be speaking to the real Landlord, that should shake them up a bit

Drizella 'n Anastasia Tremaine clearly need to find another
victim to balance the books;chances are reduced somewhat
if their reputation as subletters from hell gets out.
(I presume at this stage OP has verified if LL gave the witches
permission to sub let or not)
If I were the O.P I'd be suggesting to the ladies I contact THE
Landlord to query his opinion on the fairest solution.
As regards the childish games,
well, they're for children.

Re: Help needed- rental nightmare :(
Hi there everyone,
Thanks for all of the responses.
Well I haven't been at the flat much this week, been trying to let it die down a little from the initial ructions. Bar a few horrible texts from the landlord sister (who are British incidentally) asking me to ensure my room is unlocked at ALL TIMES, I haven't really seen or heard either of them. I believe they have filled the room now too (thanks to some Dubizzle investigations).
I do have the actual proper landlord's details. I also know she hasn't had authorisation to sub let. I am going to play it like this: I will lie low until the end of the month. Get my stuff pretty much ready to go but I will not be leaving the premises until she has paid me (cash) to leave. If she doesn't...well, I have secretly had a spare key cut and I do plan to empty her entire cupboard of booze before I leave along with a few carefully planted prawns which although childish, will make me feel a whole lot better (having lost 12,000dhs which actually, to me, IS a lot of money...)
Lets see what the next couple of weeks brings but if it comes down to it I will be forced to threaten to report her. I know possible outcomes and have done quite a bit of research. I know that for reporting her ultimately I will lose my money whereas SHE will be the one in the s*it for illegal subletting...
I'll keep you updated but in the meantime, I am warning everyone about the two of them. One of them doesn't work and is living on a tourist visa while taking cash for "teaching"...it would be too good if she had to leave thanks to shaken up visa restrictions! Karma....

Re: Help needed- rental nightmare :(
it sounds like you have them by the short'n'curlies.
I agree that 12k AED is a fair bit of money just to walk away from, but hey, the least you can do is ruin their lives for that sum. I would actually have a little chat with them when you're ready about quite how much info you have about them and how they have a lot riding on keeping you sweet.
Nothing like a woman scorned and all that. They can rant and rage, but at the end of the day, they're treading on very thin ice.
I reckon you'll see most of your money back. Cut them a deal, you have the upper hand.

......... oh, you mean pimping for some nice young Asian ladies?
And if they've now let the room, why do they say you still need to keep it unlocked for viewings?

Hello.Kitty- Yes, I think if push comes to shove, I will be threatening to dish some dirt which in their case, is plenty. I cannot even begin to tell you how much illegal cr*p has been going on in that flat- relationships with married Muslim men...the illegal subletting and teching on a tourist visa is the tip of the iceberg to be honest! I have kept quiet about everything but I will begin reminding them that it is indeed in THEIR best interest to hand me back every last penny.
The Dean- they won't admit to me that the flat has been let. I posed as a potential tenant on Dubizzle yesterday and they got back to me saying it has been let. When I return to my flat tomorrow I will be locking the door again, most definitely! Some say it would be better NOT to rock the boat and aggrevate them any more but I want to lock their door to keep them from rummaging through my personal belongings- nosey parkers!!!!

Hi SpecialK,
This all sounds horrible- I can remember being at university and I some how ended up living with "single white female" ( if youve not seen the film you should!) anyway I thought she was a bit clingy (understatement)- she was a very very odd girl anyway, I asked her to back off and give me a bit of space to myself as she wouldn't leave me alone for a second, she took it very very personally and she ended up sticthing me up by moving out and refusing to pay her rent- leaving me liable to pay it- she was from a pretty priviliged background whereas i am not so I was working nights and weekends to pay it. She was also on the same course so I just got to the point where I ignored her complete exisistance, she then approached me one day and said it was a shame i was being so petty- I was livid- saw red and absolutely blew my top- gave her a looooooot of home truths and basically ripped her to pieces - she was bawling by the time iI had finsihed with her -apparently she had had no idea of the consequences of her moving out and not paying the rent, (despite the fact she knew I was funding myself) apparently I made her feel sooo bad that she paid her outstanding rent and apparently felt awful that she had put me under so much pressure etc. I still never spoke to her again but it turned out she was actually human once she realised how selfishly she had behaved- i did bump into her a few years ago and she ran up to me all pleased to see me- it was very satisfying to shoot her down yet again! A woman scorned and all that..
Anyway my point is- perhaps it might be worth appealing to her human side- sit her down over a cuppa, cry, tell her your terrified shes not going to pay you the outstanding rent and that this is tearing you apart- really lay the guilt on her. I dont believe anyone is that heartless that they would knowingly put your through so much stress so perhaps being brutally honest will appeal to her humane side. what do you have to loose?
If she really is a bitch and tells you you can whistle for you money then i say do all of the above- and put laxatives in every liquid in the house- milk/water etc also remove all toilet roll from the house when you leave, its also worth putting a bit of paint stripper in the bathtub as this will strip the enamel and leave her shafted with her landlord, fish in the sofa as well, superglue down teh plugholes is another good one and I'd also say steal the telly- I wouldnt get into the facebook stuff as that can come back and bite you- if you know where they live in the uk I know a guy that will break kneecaps for 50 quid a pop if you really want to go down that route.. You can also send their email addresses to a spam company who will then send them thosuands of emails everyday forever, or set them up a lovely profile on an escort site with their mobile numbers. I could go on...
Good luck my dear and if you need to run away at all then just shout if you need an emergency vodka!
