Help - forecasting monthly spend!

I'm currently putting together a summary of what I am expecting to spend on a monthly basis in Dubai and I was hoping somebody could help me with the following two questions:

1. What is the current price of petrol?
2. (This is a bit more difficult and specific!) Does anyone know how much petrol they use on a monthly basis travelling a distance that is the equivalent of the journey between the American Hospital area from Dubai Marina or Jumeira? FYI I'm not planning to get a gas guzzling 4x4, but something a bit smaller and zippier.

I would appreciate any and all advice!

Thanks very much.

Petrol is so cheap that nobody really looks at the price. About £1 a gallon at the moment I think. A tank full on an "average" car will cost you about £10 and that will do you a week of commuting on the route you describe. Roughly.

petrol used to take a major importance when calculating finances in the UK.. but here, even in my job it is of little importance.

Yes agreed on the petrol, there are other things that you have to look at whilst forecasting your monthly spend, such as school fees and the rising costs of grocery shopping, my bill goes up every month?

By the way Beebee did Ceecee sort out the licence prob?

Hi

Great? Yes always good to have contacts especially here !

I do some shopping at Carrefour(sp) some at spinneys and some Abella as for sure theres always something not in stock at one of those stores and i just seem to be spending more and more each month.

As for school fees, yep they are the killer here, my sons have gone up 2 years in a row by 20% each time.

Think of how many pairs of shoes i could have purchased in with that money:(

I do shopping at the local takeaway... the prices are still the same as last year. Our little corner shop supplies the rest and they are sooooo behind on what they charge.
