Help with finding a home in Abu Dhabi!!
Help!!
My husband has been offered a job in Abu Dhabi, which is very exciting but we don't even know where to start looking for a property!! We have 2 very young kids so must be child friendly! Are there any expat communities? Which areas should we be looking for? How do we find a place to live??? We really are newbies to this so any advice would be really appreciated!!
Look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
Nicky

1. Use an agent - there are a couple of good agents, I can recommend Global Hills and Al Diyar. They will charge 5% commission.
2. Khalifa Committee - a government run scheme, some bargains to be had but a lot of legwork required.
3. Shanks Pony - walk around and ask to speak with the managing agents, the watchman should give you the details.
4. Go direct to the banks (who own a fair bit of property).
A lot depends on your budget, in Abu Dhabi at the moment, for downtown flats expect to pay the following:-
One bedroom - 40,000 - 60,000 Dhs
Two bedroom - 70,000 - 90,000 Dhs
Three bedroom - 90,000 - 160,000 Dhs
All prices are per year and rent is payable up front in advance for the year.
If you want more information, PM me for my email or phone number.
