Hey TS..thanks a lot fro that info...Pls read below and tell me wht u think i shd do next.
just to tell u exactly wht my situation is
1) I read the info on the website links u gave me....
It says on the website that if we live abroad, academic ceritificates can be signed by the the British Council.
I have already had the copy of my ceritificate attested by the British Council in UAE. So do i need to get it legalised again by the legalisation dept in UK?
2.) After doing the above, do I then get it attested by the UAE consulate in UK? Can this be done by post? i.e. send both the original and copy of the certificate to the consulate?
Thank again
Tim

This and the original are taken to the legalisation dep't of the Foreign and commonwealth office in the Old Admiralty building on the Mall (2 mins from trafalgar square) Its a ticket queuing system, very fast in the mornings and the actual legalisation of a document takes around 15 minutes and costs 12 pounds.
Heres a couple of links

You can do this by post:
http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?...=1007029391458
You then take the original and copy to the UAE consulate (Not embassy - its a different building) This is opposite the Natural history museum, etcetera. It costs around 10 pounds again and is done overnight or if you take a stamped addressed envelope they'll post it on.
48 Prince’s Gate, London SW7 2QA, UK
Tel: (020) 7589 3434.
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 0930-1300.
Hope this helps

1 - no need again (I should think)
2 - yes you can do it by mail. phone them and ask if they need the original.
Good luck

I have one of those online degrees that you can buy on Ebay of an American University. I am thinking of getting a job in the UAE. How do I go about getting it attested from the USA? Will I be caught? What are my option? Dont want to go to university again. Sick of studying.
Thanks.
Thanks.
