Anyhow I forwarded the links to her with the request to really think it over twice.

I'll let Sheila (my GF) know that. As for me? Well I paid for my BS and MS 100% out of my own pocket, as they both are internationally recognized degrees. I checked here in Holland with the Ministry of Education as for the re-confirmation of authenticity I mean. Holland is, like so many countries in Europe addapting the same attitude as the Americans, meaning "Just submit a photocopy, the damn thing is real..."
So unfortunally I hade no other choice then to (kindly) request my potentionally new employer in Dubai to find a way to bypass the "UAE Bullshit" or write off the idea of employing a Dutch National.

Noooo - they stamped all over my original.
And all the ink has gone through so the front looks a state.
And it is full - no room for no more stamps

That basically means... Your degree(s) now has the same value as toilet paper. That is in the eye's of the Germans, Belgiums, French, Italians and yes, the USA as well. Expensive little joke if you ask me.

In the UK you are never expected to show your degree certificate, employees just accept your word for it. As a result I didn't really worry about giving it in and having it stamped. But if necessary I could always get a copy from the uni.
And no insult taken!

Didn't know you could get copies of them again in the UK. Then ignore my remarks okay? Holland doesn't issue copies again.

Weird...and worrying!
My degree is French and I was told by my company to
1/ make a copy,
2/ have it certified by the school and the municipality in France,
3/ send it to the french Ministry of foreign affairs that also stamped it
4/ and the UAE embassy in Paris.
Everything on the copy!

A quick question here. Is anyone actually in the same line of work as they received the degree for ?
