same here...I was also contacted in the UK from GulfCVSpecialist and they told me the same thing that they need to chnage my CV in dubai format (!)
and that they will arrange interviews for me in the whole of the gulf region.
At the end of the conversation I was asked to pay £100 for the service, either through phone or through a internet link and also told at the same time that if I pay right at that moment I will get a discount on some other services and they will start working with my CV in 45 minutes.
As my wife is at abu dhabi, I asked the lady from GULFCV that my wife will contact her. I asked her for their local offices' (dubai) tele no. and she told me sorry although our office is at Ber Dubai and she is there at that moment but they do not have a local phone no. there....I asked her y is that?? she replied we will take a phone soon..
I guess even if they are genuine they quite could not prove it and wanted to hide that they are genuine service provider otherwise why would they insist on contacting in email and not at a local UAE no.
Guys just becareful !!!

To register any kind of company in the UAE, you need a PO Box, an electricity bill, a rent contract, and the mother of all zingers; a phone number...

sounds like a scam to me but has anyone come across them before?
aye I had the same thing when I applied to the agencies, they said they had 3 interviews for me if I paid them a fee,

I never got back to them, and they kept mailing me.

My husband was also contacted by GulfCVspecialists. They wanted over £100 to re-write his cv the Dubai way by their in-house CIPD qualified staff. As it turned out my sis-in-law holds a fellowship with the CIPD and she ok'd his cv before sending it off.

You should never pay for someone to find you a job........

From whois information:

Updated Date: 23-jul-2007
Creation Date: 18-jul-2007
Expiration Date: 18-jul-2008

So, the site was created in July 2007 and from their testimonials page, they started receiving satisfactory comments from June 2007

Angry Re: Gulf CV Specialists - Scam?

I'm suspicious of this company. All run by Indians with very strong accents. Oscar was reading everything from a script and he wanted $390. USD to that they could re-write my CV the 'Dubai' way.

I was told that I would be flown over to Dubai for 1 month, booked into a hotel with all expenses paid - highly suspicoius.

If my CV needs rewriting, then it means that they don't have a specific employer in mind.

My opinion Gulf CV Specialists = SCAM. STAY AWAY and KEEP YOUR MONEY

Never, never pay any money to be interviewed.
