[QUOTE=Amazing Grace;5849151]You never pay for someone to find you a job.

Sadly that is not true for most Asian countries like India, Pakistan, China and Philippines. The sharks there really hit 'em hard.

Hi there,
This is Vidya from Gulf Specialists
We take our customer satisfaction seriously and any further query on our website, services or holding company can be found on our site with direct contact telephone numbers also. Our customers come from all over the globe and as part of our services we help them tailor their CV’s to the Gulf market. As you will all be aware there is information deemed taboo in the Western world that is deemed an essential and important part of a CV here in the Middle East. There is also a need for a more detailed CV here in the Gulf as opposed to the shorter American style ‘resumes’ for example.
Our UAE office is based in the Ras Al Khaimah Freezone.

I detect a feeding frenzy away to start...

Good luck, Vidya... from my experience, you are one small step away from those in your home country that charge people 9 - 12 months 'expected salaty' for the privelige of being royally screwed....

CV writing is not something new its a legitimate/genuine service or business provided by various agencies. They are expert CV writers now its upto you whether you want to avail that service or not its not a scam.

e.g. if you need medical help its upto you whether you want to go to expert doctor or take your own medication.

Is there a CV writing degree? What qualifications do you need? What about a regulating professional body to ensure standards are kept?

I see see some bloody awful CV's - every day, so some people definitely need help. I'm not sure that this post shows any real competence that would assist, however.

The Dean is totally incorrect in his comment "make them different". My advice - don't. You end up with something totally unreadable.

If you are interested in putting together a CV that matches "international" standards, just go to Google. Lots of good sites for free & also check out the differences between a CV & a Resume. For this region, we need a full Curriculum Vitae.

me too!
i was contacted in Australia...
as i am just a graduate i was pretty amazed..
they called me up and told me that they will ask me few questions and he didnt tell the company name in first 30 minutes and kept talking about the prospects in dubai..are u wiulling to relocate?
any dependants u have??
etc etc

i thought i got a job or something...
later they started finding some nooks about my cv...
i thought wait a sec... if u didnt like my resume how did i got shortlisted...
and they told me they are calling from hongkong...
and he was an indian...

later after convincing me and attracting me by saying the future prospects of working in gulf he asked for 200$

he kept on pitching, not like a counsellor but some marketer...
and he was hasting...like typical indian call center salesperson

i thought back off...i said ill think bout it and let u know later!
spoke to him for like an hour!!
jeeezzz...

he is gonna call me 2nite as well!!
whackhh him!!
