ahh, will backtrack a little here as the "recruitment consultant" gave us a rather little untruth about the housing allowance!!! however we should still be able to enjoy a rather nice hovel somewhere in an indian workers camp.!

I won't talk about my accom allowance....but my boss has been in the same 3 bed massive apartment for 10 years and pays 8k a month. Subsequently he believes this is the Doha norm!

Mr p18pps here. Mrs p18pps got far too excited at the places to live and the discussions held with agents ( great people that they are - tossers most of them).
So yes i think 40k was mentioned but not quite that high, but high enough for a decent shed to lie down in.
We have the details of the package on the way so magnifying glasses and Qatar legal dictionary at hand to make sure my trousers are not pulled down

My eyes popped out at 40k QR housing allowance. That's close to 500k QR per year. That would normally mean your entire package would be in the ball park of 1.2m+ QR. That's serious money. You'd have to be running a good sized company for that kind of package.
