Re: Is this a good offer???
Considering you have a family, I think the housing allowance is very low. Remember that renting will take up a significant amount of your salary. Due to the inflated prices.
UAE has become a place of choice now, hence the demands for high prices. I would suggest Saudi or other gulf nations if such opportunites exist.

Actually, I might also get an offer from Saudi aramco. If that happens, we would be located in Al khobar (Dahran) close to Saudi-Bahrein border.

It's located in Khalidiya (link: http://www.futureviewproperty.com/ho...pl=Abu%20Dhabi)
Well ... I am not in AD yet, but if arrive in June 2008 I would expect to have f3 B/R flats around AED200,000

Is this low rise building? Does the schedule tell you what street number?

Not sure on current Aramco packages, but a couple of years ago they were very competitive (had to be to get people to move there).

I used to work in Aramco, it's not too bad there (by Saudi standards) - Aramco compound is like a small city, not really much need to leave it. Apart to do pork-runs to Spinneys in Bahrain.

Re: Is this a good offer???
Good to hear that .... but if I had to choose, I think I would rather prefer to live in Abu Dhabi.
So I really have to negotiate a housing allowance that is much better than AED120,000/year
Cheers!

I do not know if this is a low rise building since I am not living in AD and I am not directly in contact with the real estate agency yet.
but what do u think about this property? Does AED190,000 sounds OK for you?
Cheers.

Think maybe you are looking at refurbs on 7th/30th-one of the busiest junctions in town.Annacarna and maybe SYB will know the flats-sorry duplexes I mean ;face onto Khalidya Gardens, adjacent to Prestige other side of 30th.For sure they are 195k for 3 bed now-parking extra.......
I don't think there is anything in AD meeting the spec you listed. You really have to be there and if you see something which kinda fits the bill-sign up !

Re: Is this a good offer???
It looks like it is very difficult to find an apartement in AD.
I don't how we will manage to get a nice flat (Family friendy) for less than AED 200,000!!

Re: Is this a good offer???
I would opt for either BSAK (British School Al Khubeirat) or the Amercian Schools
From Banniyas to BSAK its not such a trek, and there are lots of families living out that way now as there is limited choice at the mo
so it should be OK
