but if you want to have all the insurances, which is a must here, it would still cost you 135dhs a day to rent the smaller car, and its limiting you only to 300kms. so how is it much cheaper than a normal rental car?

True...but the Touareg would be a few dh more...and thats well worth it.

It must be said. I have never taken out collision damage waivers when I've rented cars in the UAE. Maybe I should!

Even if you have to pay your own insurance. The long term (year long deal) seems much better value.
