Default Good Car Mechanics In Riyadh

Anyone know of good mechanics in Riyadh?

I am thinking of buying a 4x4 and want someone with mechanical knowlege to give a 2nd opinion.

Is there any way of knowing if the car is previously stolen or involved in an accident as we have back home?

Thanks.

I have a very good Phillipino Mechanic.
He looks after mine .
However he is on the number 2 car repair estate.
which is a maze inside the estate, soooo many car repiar shops.
If when /you come to register the car / Transfer ownership then all outstanding fines etc should be paid off before you take it on.
a very simple process i paid about 150 riyals for a mr fixit and it took less than 24 hours from start to finnish.
Use one of the many places in the car souq on the top end of Khuris Road.
its all very easy for once here in the land that time forgot.

It takes an experienced eye to tell if the car is a reconstructed wreck but checkng the lines of the door edges and wheel arches and behind the lamps and under the spare wheel are good indicators. Check the date on the seat belt labels with the documentation for the chasis and engine numbers for correspondance.

Get an experienced and trustworthy second hand dealer to look at the car - they can see things straight away.

If it is an import to Saudi then it will have been inspected as part of the export procedures.

Any idea how I'd import my motor from Abu Dhabi? I intend letting a Mr Fix it well fix it

Try calling Intertek in Sharjah - they certainly used to inspect and certify the car exports from UAE / Qatar / Kuwait into Saudi and Kenya.
They may actually have an inspector in AD.
At that time (2006) you needed an import certificate. The inspection is just to see that the car is safe to drive and I think they check emissions too.
