Gimme a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been working in Qatar for the last six years, teaching English at the International School of Choueifat. My wife recently received an offer from a school in Abu Dhabi and we are relocating over there in August. I presently don't hold a teaching degree but this is needed in The Emirates so am looking for any type of work while I study, anybody have any ideas? Would my chances of finding work be easier when I am based there? I have applied to a few online recruitment agencies but most of the work on offer is oil or engineering based and I have no experience of either. I don't fancy driving a taxi either so can anybody help?!!!!
Thanks...........

You might get a job as a houseboy, if you are lucky...

Teaching English privately to wealthy Arabs may be an option.

Yes or even as a private after school tutor - they seem to be in demand - well certainly here in Dubai they are - doesn't say much for the school standards though

It's probally me best option at the mo. Can't really look into it though until I get there. Tutors are common in Qatar too but you have the usual problems of not getting paid when you want it and the general laziness of some of the kids combined with their parents who expect miracles.........:curse:

Happens a lot in AD.
A graduate(regardless of discipline) whose first language is English can obtain work as a teacher in National schools. No pgce or tq required.
To the OP-look at the ADEC for list of National schools.ENS,Choueifat,Sheik Zayed Private School-worth emailing given your Doha experience

I will look into that but at present not really fussed about teaching. Kinda fancy a break, something less taxing while studying. A nice little nine to five office type job with my own tea boy and computer would be just swell.
