Getting passport copy notarised?

We are buying a house in UK. Part of the money laundering checks is an ID check involving sending a notarised copy of passport back to UK.

What is the easiest and quickest way of doing this in Dubai? Embassy? lawyer? Notary public?

Thanks

I've just done this. Speak to your solicitor as they may accept a number of ways of doing it. In the end, I was able to have it certified by our country manager who was signing on behalf of the company (international bank) as our in house lawyer was on holiday.

Otherwise, the next easiest step is to find a friend in-practice lawyer and buy him a coffee. They just need a company stamp and a signature.

Assuming a Dubai Notary Public is acceptable (best to double check) that is quick and easy.

Thanks Millhouse. I don't circulate in business or similar circles so don't know how to find a solicitor.

Can you suggest anyone/anywhere? PM if necessary.
Thanks:thumbsup:

Thanks Meow. Just looked on the Dubai Courts website. Opening hours make it impossible to visit unless Mrs Meldrew goes on Thursday. Would she be able to get my passport copy attested if I weren't there?

I'll look into it.
Thanks
