Default GBP1 = 5.3AED

Ouch, ouch, ouch--I get paid in Sterling (albeit most of my costs are back in the UK), but its pushing up the prices at the Ally Pally at a frightening rate.

All donations welcomed.

I feel for you. You need to negotiate harder, exchange rate risk is clearly hers not yours.

It can go a lot lower yet - with so much 'upheaval' in the markets (and with one of the world's most important trading blocs - the Eurozone - in a meltdown of their own making), the only safe haven for investors is the mighty USD.......... GBP/USD has been bouncing around the 1.43 level today, but there's no reason why it should suddenly change direction.............

Time to stick my neck out: 1.28 by year-end.

I'd say, UAE Exchange, or Al Ansari

Meow will say Meow.

The truth is probably... it depends on how much you are sending.

I negotiated to be paid in rials (I'm in Oman) but 50% of the salary was negotiated in sterling, the other 50% in rials.

Boring, but sensible.
