Default Gait Analysis/bio mechanics for runners

Hi all,

After many years of being an expat slob I'm finally starting to run again (its been over 15 years!). Anyway, as I'm not a fit young man anymore I would really like a gait analysis done as I have dodgy knees at the best of times and I'm told my feet dont "plant" right when I strike the ground. I'm sure this can be corrected with proper trainers/insoles hence why I would like a gait analysis/bio mechanics assessment so I dont trash my knees for good!

Recommendations in Dubai/AD most welcome!

not trying to be a smart-arse but it probably would be better if you bought a bike. I myself have the dreaded dodgy knee's and found that since living over here that running in the 'dunes' has done them a world of good.

avoid tarmac and concrete, and the "plant right" is due to shoes full stop, biomechanically the body is not suited to running in any kind of shoe, the more sole/support the worse it gets.

would have to agree with this. My weapon of choice is Nike Free 7.0 or if that is not available Nike Everyday, they are just a shoe upper with a very flexible flat cushioned sole.

Thanks all. I did consider a bike but Muscat is far from bike friendly.

So, still looking for a recommendation for gait analysis! Ive obviously googled and I get;

www.dubaipodiatry.com
www.dxbphysio.com

Anyone know/used these guys before?

knees hurt=90% chance your heel striking and in the wrong shoes.
cure=no shoes/minimal shoes and mid foot/fore foot striking
