dear all, anyone knows a company that can deliver some boxes from the Doha airport to home (Education City)? we are sending 6 medium size boxes via air cargo, and need a way to deliver them at home, as we do not have a car yet.

a pick up is more than enough

It is all part of the process of clearing through customs. There is a row of trucks at customs that your agent/pro will negotiate with to transport your goods to your accommodation.

thanks - but we deliver with an Italian shipping company who has no agents in Doha. So we must find someone for the delivery by ourselves.

To do anything in Qatar you need a PRO (Public Relations Officer), your company employs PROs who sort out all the official paper work for visa clearance, custom clearance, company registration etc. No company can operate without PROs. You can try and clear your freight through customs yourself but you will find it extremely frustrating and time consuming. No matter you will find transport waiting outside the gates at customs.

Hello All,

Is it now must to have a public relation officer in order to clear customs without much difficulty in Qatar. Because 2 years back i went Qatar and there was not such an issue over there with the custom officers.

Can anyone give an updated info because i have to visit qatar next month for business purpose.

Use a clearing agent , there's loads here , you'll find one in the Classifieds of The Gulf Times.

Not a must - a colleague cleared his air freight last month on his own. It took him 3 hours at the airport and 2 hours then trying to locate his belongings which had disappeared on a truck with his passport.

The poster is referring to clearing unaccompanied freight not clearing customs in arrivals.

You should ask your employer and they will sort it out for you. Otherwise you need to go to airport Cargo and then talk to one of the many agents there.It takes a few hours to clear through customs
