Freelancing

I know that if you work two job you can get into trouble and I believe even deported - but any idea if I do a few little freelance jobs here and there, and submit and invoice if this counts as the same thing?

Been offered a years work, doing 5 or 6 hours a month but over 12 months and would like to do it but they need an invoice from me and they'll give me cheques every month to me.

Cheers all.

Re: Freelancing

its still illegal to perform any paid work outside of your sponsor, dont think you could even set up a freelance company unless you leave your primary employer...

Re: Freelancing

You need a letter of no objection from yoru sponsor, I asked to do it and they said no so I didn't do it. Without your sponsors NOC its illegal.

So is it possible to freelance if on a spouse-sponsored visa, assuming the spouse writes an NOC?

No, as your spouse is not your employer. In that scenario a proper visa is required, usually via one of the freezones.

Sounds like an opportunity too good to miss. I suggest you delete this thread and hope nobody remembers having ever seen it. Good luck.:fingerscrossed:

I don't know why you would risk it for 5 or 6 hours over 12 months? Its barely 2 weeks full time work, or unless you feel it will open into something bigger as things progress.
As for a solution why not try invoice them from a non UAE address, so its not traceable to you and get the funds transferred rather than a locally issued cheque.

You can work for different educational services and get good earnings. It's absolutely legit. For example, I've been working for <snip> for 1 year. This is international company.

I work for spammersaredullards.com for 1 minute and can confirm you are absolutely not legit.

If someone is on a spouse-sponsored visa, then what's the problem? Are there any freezones in Doha?
