I play in a 5 a side footy team and we used to play park footy every week but Safa Park, the bastards, have banned all footy from certain pitches so there's about 8 teams fighting over 3 pitches. But I'm sure we'll be up and running again soon.

do you play much back home?

i play but not as much as ide like, work takes up loads off time, what about 11 side teams mate? all help with best sports bars and such like be appreciated

there are 11 a side teams but they are pretty good, as mentioned we used to play in the park, 20 of us, pick teams, jumpers for goal posts and play until you drop - it's bloody brilliant.

There's a ton of sports bars, Irish village shows loads and tons of others really, I watch a lot at home but most bars will have the footy on anyway.

I watch all my footie at the Jebel Ali Club, we also have a group of around 12 - 14 that plays 5-a-side at Al Quoz every week.. Bit more of a pub kickabout than a serious league set-up tho.

I'd be up for a bit of this as well, not played 11's for a wee while but was playing 5's 2 or 3 times a week and the odd game of 7's up until coming out here in Jan.

geordie1973 - I've been frequenting Nezesaussi bar in the Al Manzil hotel, someone on here recommended it. Decent bar, lots of screens full of sport and if you're in Downtown within walking distance.
