fire and ice/china moon...
...hmmm...Fire and Ice, the new "steak" restaurant in Raffles, kinda works, kinda doesn't. Waitress hadn't heard of a bloody mary...not difficult methinks...then for a steak restaurant, didn't know what asking for the steak "blue" meant, and wondered whether it meant really, really well done!!!!!!
china moon is the bar...lovely...clearly they are wanting it to be very exclusive cos there are about 10 bouncers by the lift downstairs...but get up there and it's empty. It does look good, Nefertiti's head dominates the bar, a good dj, and fab views of dubai...but soooooo expensive, a kir royale, which even i passed on given the price, was 145 dhs!!!!
Anyone else been...would be good to have some other views...

I'd have thought having snakes for hair might have caused you some conflict with the door policy. Clearly if they aren't racist they aren't repileist (is that even a word?) either.

As we still dont know the nicest places yet,do you have any tips on somewhere to go for a meal.The old mans taking me out tonight!

Well we are in the ranches,but I dont want that to keep us away from any of the nice places.As far as the food goes,maybe chinese,steak or seafood.Just somewhere with a nice view,few nice shops or bars.open to anything you think we should see!

probably your best bet then will be to go to Trader Vics or the Meat Co. at the Souk Madinat. you might have trouble getting a table though so call to book.

I would suggest going to the Madinat, there is loads to see and do there lots of restaurants
The Meat Co is okay, not gourmet food but great steak, best to book, loads of other places there to look up Time Out
You have lots of pubs, Left Bank, Trade Vic's and also JamBase a club which is good has a live band, they are good great atmosphere
