Default Finding a place to live - Doha

Whats the best way to go about this guys and girls?

Does anyone know of any reputable agents/real estate people or companies?

Also can anyone give me any names and locations of good compounds or towers?

Budget is circa 10k inc of utilities, ideally i'd like a 2 bed for when my parents visit.

Thanks

You'll get a decent flat in Al Saad for that budget , maybe better off having a drive around on a Friday and asking the security guards , agents are a nightmare here as everywhere in the ME , you'll end up paying a fee for basically nowt .

Try Al Saad , Abu Hammour , Al Waab for pretty central digs . The further you go towards West Bay and The Pearl the higher the premium will be .

Choice is not that great here but there's still a few good places out there you just have to put the leg work in and go from there .

Exactly that. I have lived in Al Waab and now Al Sadd. I prefer Al Sadd as you can have a wonder around at night, plenty of places to eat and you can get a cab before you have smoked a marlboro red. Every part of town is 20 chips away.

Try property finder.qa as a rough idea of prices and what's on offer
Don't believe the pictures though and don't believe the agents

try here: http://alameenproperties.com/properties.php

Al Ameen Apartments
Old Salatha- Close to Corniche
F/F 2 and 3 BHK Deluxe Apartments,
with Fully equipped Gym Hall, Basic Connections & Free maintenance.

2 bed, furnished is QR8k/m incl. all utility bills (or QR 6k/m for a one bed).

They'll do a 6 month lease too, which would give you time to settle without too much commitment.

Ok, so how do you find out where compounds are or what they are called?
