DUBAI -- The London Times newspaper was removed by authorities from shelves in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday amid reporting of Dubai's debt problems, an executive at the paper said.
Earlier this month Dubai's Sheik Mohammed told reporters gathered at an investment conference in the city to "shut up" and stop criticizing the emirate and its crucial relationship with Abu Dhabi. Under the U.A.E.'s media code, publications are prohibited from criticizing the sheikdom's rulers.

Also in The National -
Dubai World could still meet the December 14 deadline on the US$4 billion (Dh14.69bn) payment of a sukuk from Nakheel under one option being considered by advisers to the conglomerate.
Repayment on schedule is one of four alternatives being considered by Dubai World

Ps. I had plenty of friends in dubai. Still have them (although they were of the more intelligent type than people like you and got out before the shit hit the fan).
