I am an ex police officer from the UK, (financial CSO in OZ for last 5 months) and i am hoping to end up in Abu Dhabi with my guy in the near future. Just wondering what sort of positions women have available to them over there.
I would truly appreciate sensible advice only.

Plenty of work in AD - what type of work are you looking for? What is a CSO?

you will find that you cant be a police officer here but i know that etihad were advertising for fraud officers etc.

The police don't seem to do very much work here, they just drive around in nice cars, wearing sunglasses and looking cool.

r but now they definately do 'more' than they used to, i was in a queue of traffic the other day on airport road, it took me 3 goes of the lights to even get close, i was in the first lane, and this jeep comes along to my right in the right hand turn lane, but there was a police car to my left, so i watched and waited to see what or if they would do anything, the lights changed green, the jeep pushed in, the police indicated to pull into my lane, put his flashing lights on and pulled Mr Jeep Man over, even if he didnt fine him he 'slowed' him down. So the police are definately doing a little bit more for their money. And I know a scottish guy working in the police, and he is extremely busy!

also quite a few companies have anti-piracy operations here, and they tend to be staffed by ex-coppers...

OK, so working as a police officer is out of the question then!
I am a financial customer service officer at the moment in oz, but prefer the police work rather than dishing out money....
Maybe the fraud aspect could be interesting. Thank you. Your input is appreciated.

You could try and contact the police HQ, they are spending a lot of money on training and maybe that's area you could look at
