What is your favourite place in Dubai and why?

Now, I know you are all a cynical bunch but could you hold the sarcasm humour me please? There is a lot of negative stuff on this forum (which has been very helpful, I would like to add) so it would be good to hear some positives. My husband has just landed in Dubai and I am due to go over in about 4 weeks time so I'd be very interested.
Thanks.
Souk Madinat, proper ace - nice inteh day, lots of daft shops and stuff and perfect at night sitting outside having some nice food watching teh sun set over the burj al arab with a few beers.

Safa Park - I play footy there every week and it's pretty damn big and I love it.

Erm, Wild Wadi - massive water partk, only been twice but spent 7 hours there both times.

But what's happened to the lovely boating lake? It was drained last time I was there. The flea market at Safa Park is certainly worth a look. My family's other favourites include Creek Park and Al Mamzar Beach Park.

The above all in one place: Marine Club @ Seaview = better live music, similar introduction for colleagues, cheapish beer and you still get to practice your haggling skills

Don't do jogging so can't comment...

I like the place with the moniker "Dubai's best kept secret"...so few know it exists or how to get to it. Hint near The Walk.

Cherry is the best bass guitarist you'll see live pretty much anywhere - and can still play lead with the guitar behind her head - awesome show

"Better live music" - It's a personal choice of course - I think the Rock Spiders play and sound much better, and have more energy in their sets.

Watching the band in the Marine Bar at times makes my beer flat, with their depressingly glum faces staring back at us...

I have enjoyed Golden Star (The group in the Marine Mar) since their days in the old Arif Castle, but slowly the members have changed and only the drummer, keyboardist and the bassist left from the originals. I guess working 7 days a week for 11 months of the year wears you down in then end!!
