Family Visa for UAE, Married in Philippines
Hi there,
I wonder if anyone has gone through the same situation as me?
Many years ago I was married in the Philippines (to a Philipina). Have a Philippines Marriage Certificate. We now live in UK but wish to move to UAE.
Is the only way to process this via Manila, or has anyone found a work-around. I fear that the inflexibility may lie with the UK authorities (despite haveing accepted the document for the purpsoes of my residency here).

Hi there,
Yes, have heard it can be done by a third party.
We also know people - it's just an extra hassle. Still, par for the course I guess. At least she's not separated, so no hassle there (no divorce in Phils, for those that don't know - so choose carefully).
Should have the papers processed by my company in UAE (Governmnet agency) so got that covered too.
So, looks like it needs to be done in Phils.....
Thanks!!

We got it all processed in the UAE and it was rather easier than trying to do it elsewhere, but wifey is a national of one of the visa-on-arrival countries.

As far as I know all you need is attestation by the relevant government department in the Philippines followed by attestation by the UAE Embassy in Manilla. Getting it attested in the UK won't hurt either.
If you have all that sorted you will likely only need to attest your certificates in the UAE courts and possibly your respective embassies. It might be a good idea to speak to the PRO of the company your are joining in the UAE.

To attest the marriage certificate in the ministry of foreign affairs of the Philippines in Manila, the UAE embassy in Manila, then the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dubai or AD, finally at the Philippines embassy in Dubai.
There are agencies that can arrange this paperwork for you for a fee...Maybe you could first go to Manila and try to do the first two attestations there. But have your UAE Sponsor prepare your UAE entry visas before hand then Fly from Manila to Dubai...
I have done all that in Bangkok and it was pretty straight forward, but I don't know how easy it is in Manila.
