Facts About the Middle East
Women were banned by royal decree from using hotel swimming pools in Jidda, Saudi Arabia, in 1979.
In Saudi Arabia, a woman reportedly may divorce her husband if he does not keep her supplied with coffee.
Arabic Inventions :
1. The Telescope
2. The Pendulum
3. The Watch
The first watch was made by Kutbi, a renowned watchmaker. Islamic countries also invented the water clock.
4. The Mariners compass.
5. The Windmill
6. Photography (invented by Ibn al-Hashem)
Last but not least gunpower. !!
Mir Fatehullah Khan is known to history as the inventor of gunpower and the gun. The presumption that gunpower was first made by the chinese does not stand the test of historical research.
