Default Extra Long Shower Curtain?

Hi - we've just relocated and I have an irritating problem - the pole above the bath has been installed so high that the standard 180cms long shower curtain isn't reaching.

I don't yet have a car so getting around is a little awkward, but I've tried IKEA and a large Lulu so far but can't find a shower curtain long enough.

Anyone know where in Abu Dhabi that sells them? (Or even Dubai?)

Thanks!

Put an IKEA pole below it. They just lock into place anyway. You'll be able to get a design you like then too.

The big Abu Dhabi co-ops have plasticky material you can buy by the metre. It's originally made for table-covering but I guess it will do.

Does it really matter if the shower curtain is a little short.

Correct - lateral thinking. Buy a new curtain rail and put it lower then take the old one off. In fact why don't you just lower the pole that is there?

Maybe the OP doesn't fancy the idea of drilling holes into tiles if that's what needs to be done? An alternative may just be to buy another shower curtain and stitch the two together. Or to buy two the same and stitch them together if you want it to look a little better.

Thanks guys - didn't occur to me to try another pole but may just have to do that if they do just lock into place. This one is drilled in (and we aren't allowed to drill another without being charged for it).

Been on amazon and longer ones do exist, might hold out until a friend from the UK can bring one over.

Yes, not a very exciting topic but one that is causing me grief!

But there are spring loaded telescopic poles which need no screwing/fixing which as pointed out could be mounted below the high fixed support. Easy peasy!

Well, I think it was more parallel thinking given the way the replacement pole would be running.

You're right, however i'm happy to be merely thinking these days.

If you do decide to go for the (obvious?) option of installing a new pole below the existing one, and it won't fix properly, I suggest suspending it from sky hooks.

Maybe there's a good reason for a short curtain. You don't wanna get caught up and end up kicking like a drowning donkey. On the other hand could be more incompetence!
