Extra Finger Prints for ID?
 

Afternoon all, great forum this, first post so be gentle!

A friend has received a call today from immigration in AD asking her to attend their centre to take extra fingerprints. They said not to worry but she is naturally concerned about this as we don't know of residents being asked for this despite being here for a couple of years with her ID and visa remaining.

Any ideas? Cheers.

We got the following email in work (Saudi) about this -
Dear Colleague
Passport office has made fingerprinting of all expat female mandatory for all Passports office transactions So please everyone accelerate and end a Fingerprint according to the location attached

Thank you for your cooperation

Lol. That's even more confusing. Still no idea why she has to go in to immigration.

quite often on the first renewal you get recalled for fingerprints... it just means that they werent very clear the first time around, no need to worry at all.

About 8 years ago the Saudis made every one have there fingerprints and Photo on there, data base.
This was stop the over stayers and people with no local visa, some people that come over for the hajj , stay over and become a pain for the yokels, this is why every couple of years they hold a cull, and round up all the over stayers.

So really nothing to worry about. Maybe the yokel that did the first round of finger prints messed it up.
