Re: Expat Woman
on a side note i use to work at a high end plastic surgery hospital in London - was the finance manager there and one of the most risky procedures to have done was the gastric brand....i would never advise that, having seen the complications from it.

But I guess you need to balance that against the risks of remaining obese.

To the OP - did you have the band removed in the end, or still got it? Well done with the massive weight loss.

Re: Expat Woman
5' 11" is spot on. Try and blag that i'm 6'.
I never had a band I had a sleeve which is the first part of a Gastric Bypass, without the plumbing bits.
Had a few emails over the weekend and have tried to push people away from the surgeon I had.

Spartan I am bloody impressed by your transformation. Really brilliant.
How did you start running? Did you do the couch to 5k or something like it?
I've tried to start a running regime on several occasions and been utterly rubbish. Tips welcome...

ran a bit when I was 17/18 and played Pro and semi Pro sports most of my 20s so i have the training bug inside just quite deep. Was doing a bootcamp and the fit test was one lap of Safa. got half way and hadn't stopped so did it all without stopping and never looked back. The club scene is very good in Duabi and its just a big part of my life. Wife even tells me to go running during the week if I start getting grumpy.
