Employment Card
I was shown an 'Employment Card' in AD today never heard of or seen one before.
Same size and layout as a UAE driving licence but gold.
Can anyone shed any light on it?, I was told that it was a legal requirement to have one

Re: Employment Card
I think you are talking about a labour card. Your employer will organise it. Don't forget that you will also need an identity card. Get the Company PRO to do all the running and start as you mean to go on!

Yes, a labour card is pretty essential.

Nice! I've got one tucked away in the sock drawer but I've never carried it in my wallet like driving licence, car licence, emirates ID oh wait! Isn't Emirates ID supposed to do away with all the other bits of plastic?

Re: Employment Card
so that doesnt mean that you dont need one, has anyone asked to see your id card does that mean you cant get one. they are a requirement from the MOL, sometimes companies withold the labour card instead of passport (which is not allowed to but of course some companies do) hence why you may not have seen it before but it may exist.

Re: Employment Card
I never had a labour card in AD. And yes I was legally employed. I was on a TwoFour54 visa so you'd have thought they knew what they were doing. Oh, wait...
I thought it was a Dubai thing. Mind you, I didn't have one in Dubai either, although I doubt I was legally employed there. Certainly none of the Iranian staff were.
