Employer and Internet
My employer provides internet for us. Internet is not related to job by any means. i just use it for research in Google.
Sometimes I use it for chatting and messenger.
My question is, do you think that our employer is looking to every thing in my computer?
What if they catch me using internet for personal uses like looking for a job?
Need your advices.
Any advices will be appreciated.
many thaks

Re: Employer and Internet
Most employers don't mind a limited amount of internet use by their employees. If they've given you access and you don't need it for your work, then that's probably the case with your employer. Just make sure you limit your time online to a reasonable amount and at sensible times, and don't try to look at anything you shouldn't.
Do they check everything you look at? Well, they almost certainly have that ability, but I doubt they do it unless you give them reason to suspect that you're doing something wrong (like looking at porn)--if you give them that reason, then they'll probably take a look at all your history.
Just be sensible and discreet.
