Re: Emirati ID card
agree i am sure that the deadline will be relaxed again, although it doesnt stop you trying to abide by the rules, but am not stressing over it, if it has to be done it will be all in good time. was talking to a guy who is best friends with the main man on this, and was telling him all my ideas about how they should have done it, hope it got passed on

Think the deadline will definitely be extended. A special office is going to opened by EIA to cater to our company staff and this is supposed to be open for 3 months (so well beyond announced deadline of 31/12).
And the online form doesn't seem to work most of the time.

...last night on City 7 News, a UAE minister said that we will shortly be able to download the application form onto our computers and that a CD will also be available in the coming weeks...so alternative improved methods are likely...as intimated by The Commander.

Well done Busybee!
As for the biometrics... well, can't photo ID and a suitable watermark-type thing (like our passports) cover it? Part of me just completely opposes our governments having databases of fingerprints, etc...
Plus, you know the antenna in our British passports behing the chip? Well, they're strong enough to emit withing a mile or 2's radius...
And also... like iris recognition and all that... ever seen Gattaca?! Haha! Steal your eyeballs!

Anyhow, yes, as you say, it's not like we can refuse.
