Easy jet - Easy Hotel

easyHotel Jebel Ali welcomes first guests.
easyHotel Jebel Ali, the budget brand hotel chain's first venture outside Europe, on Monday welcomed its first guests, many of them taking advantage of the offer of budget price of Dh99 per night for a double-room.

easyHotel Jebel Ali is part of the low-cost hotel brand founded and owned by entrepreneur Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou. The hotel's brand new six-storeyed building, with its trademark orange trimmings, has 216 air-conditioned bedrooms, each equipped with basic amenities like en-suite bathroom, wireless internet access and a work desk space for the busy traveller.

Seriously? At least 5 star hotels make Doha half way tolerable but to be stuck in Doha in an Easy hotel- they had better not sell razor blades!

I was staying at a new place - the Merwebhotel Central in Old Al Ghanem district. A decent 5 star place, big rooms and there's a reasonable (but lacking much atmosphere) bar on the mezzanine.

I got a good deal through bookings.com and paid 409 Riyals per night, including good free internet, free parking and breakfast included. The scrambled eggs were excellent
