A&E in Jeddah
Greetings.
My friend has been offered a lucrative 3 month locum post in a new, expanding facility in Jeddah as an A&E nurse, by a recruitment agency. Accommodation and travelling is provided. She is a single girl of 31, very sensible and intelligent, not gay and fairly modest in dress. There are some scare stories regarding the treatment of some women in Saudi. As a regular member of the Portugal forum I thought I would pop over here to ask if anyone has any experiences they can share, particularly relative to nurses working in Jeddah. Many thanks. Stuart |
Re: A&E in Jeddah
I know girls who have nursed in Saudi and loved it, but I have also know girls who couldn't cope with the whole Saudi mentality (which would be my issue in this situation). Is it Aramco though? that is a good option. I had two friends who were medical secretaries who went to Aramco and loved it.

Re: A&E in Jeddah
As far as I know ARAMCO do not have medical fdacilities in Jeddah but use private hospitals. As one of the posters here has said some people take to life in Jeddah and some do not. There is a lively social life - if you look for it

Re: A&E in Jeddah
Many thanks for the replies. It seems as though it could go either way, so I think I'll show her this thread and let her decide.
Thank you. Stuart :) |

The agency doesn't say where it is, only that it is expanding its facilities and that there are no visas available for male nurses at present.
The one thing I remember about Jeddah was that EVERY female nurse is a very popular commodity ( I married one..) |

Your point, Miss Janx ?
I suppose that I should be flattered that Ms Janx has overcome her revulsion at all things Saudi so that she can stalk me through my posts here. And it is comforting that she takes such an interest in my biography. |
