Dubai wins 'cleanest city' award

Saw this in the paper this morning. Now whilst I agree that city is clean - streets swept etc, malls immaculate. Environmentally it isn't. We live in smog permanently due to the construction. After a weekend in Al Ain I realised how smoggy it is here, there was blue sky in Al Ain, and the sky here was white/grey, you could see it getting 'thicker' as you approached Dubai.

My God. The judges obviously didn't walk the streets of Bur Dubai, Diera, Satwa and Karama.

No where is the presence of smog more apparent than when you stand in an offshore spot like 360 at JBH and look back at the city skyline.
