whatsapp works occasionally without the VPN but it is hit and miss
friend from the UK was here on holiday and it worked for her ( calling UK) however facetime wouldnt work and she had it enabled on her phone

The best way is probably to wait for hyperloop. Then you can hyperloop to your colleague or friend and get real "facetime" with them

OR you can drone-taxi to your friend...

Dubai is too advanced for facetime, whatsapp and pornhub- the three great institutions of the modern era.

Facetime always works for me. As for whatsapp you need to download Turbo VPN.

We use most of the time ICQ for video between Doha and Dubai, works fine.

One on of my Iphones, bought on Abu Dhabi airport, there isn't even facetime software included on the phone.

Xhamster works fine in my hotel at Doha

whatsapp voice is blocked as far as i know...it never works for me. FT works as long as you have the app on your phone...meaning if you buy an iphone in the UAE it doesn't come with FT - or at least it didn't the last time i brought an iphone from here.
