Dubai Stop over

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help me please. We are thinking of having a stopover in Dubai for a few days and was just wondering how expensive it is? We are looking for a hotel to suit a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and so far have only found very expensive hotels on the internet that dont seem to have rooms for 4 people meaning we have to book 2 rooms. Also the sites I have been researching shows that it is fairly expensive to eat out, when your earning ozzie dollars that is not something that we will be able to afford. Is it really that expensive in Dubai or are the web sites I have been looking on catering for the people with lots of money?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Marie

all the coffee shops are cheap, it is only when you start hitting the 5 star hotels that it gets pricey. The APH prices are fine, they even got a sandwich bar in the foyer.

Thank you for the replies. Sandwiches and Mcdonalds for lunch sounds ok to me....it would be awesome to be able to afford nice restaurant meals 3 times a day but when you earn Aussie dollars and have 2 kids that is by no way acheivable. As long as we get a nice meal on an evening then i'll be happy.
