Dubai social for the over 50's
I have lived/worked both in Saudi and in Egypt (teaching). In both places I found it very easy to get into a social life. Particularly in Saudi all ages mixed for a variety of different social events ranging from DVD nights, quizzes, house parties to some fairly wild discos/balls.
I have been in Dubai for 2 years now and find it very difficult to get the same range of activities. Most of my workmates are a lot younger (they are in the 20's/early 30's, I am in my early 50's). The main activity seems to be getting blind drunk and goofing around. I'm not condemning this, just need to find an alternative/s. Most of the 'elder statesmen/women' of Dubai seem to have closed social circles which it is difficult to get into. Am I being unfair? does anybody have any ideas or suggestions? |

Why not go to the BE Quiz Night as MataHari and company are almost in your age bracket:thumbup:...hastily runs out of the room.

Afraid to admit, I like Quiz nights and the only Matahari I know of was a spy in the war. |
