Re: Dubai Outlet Mall
depends what you are looking for...there is a load of right old crap there - and if you go frequently, it's the same old stuff -but then some of my friends have bagged some good bargains...
you don't need anything like a day there, an hour or so does me...but then i'm not really a fan of the place...

I took my wife and daughter there last Friday and they enjoyed it. I bought three pairs of shoes (hiking boots/trainers/shoes) for Dhs100 and had a nice Chinese lunch. The misses got some cute lingerie at Nayomis for Dhs60. It only took 35 minutes from Garhoud but it took longer going back as you have to drive on to the next exit and double back. The whole trip was about 3 hours including lunch.

Yeah, leaving from there back to Dubai is a bit silly.
Basically there are a couple of ok places to buy last season's stuff - I'd pick out Adidas and Nike for sports, Mango and Monsoon for the ladies, and Kenneth Cole and Massimo Dutti generally. Possibly also Levi's and Diesel (if they're up to the usual outlet shop - I don't think either was open last time I went).
Everything else was rubbish.

Cheaper sports kits in the couple of sports shops they have there?! Nothing amazing and not huge bargains, but useful I thought (if you happened to be there as opposed to a special trip).

As you leave the car park and are on the slip road to get back onto al ain road there is an underpass which if you take it you can get back onto the other side of al ain road and save yourself the time of going right up to the next exit - wouldn't try it in a ferrari though
