Dubai Offer Help, please!
Hi
I have just been offered a position with an M&E contractor in Dubai.
Does anybody know what the cost of living out there is i.e.:
Rent
Bills
Council tax?
Help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Rent - depends on what you need, but generally comes under "extortionate". Double the rent on an equivalent property in the UK and/or count a bit more than London prices.
Bills - some are cheaper, some are more expensive. Count the same as your bills in the UK
Council tax - 5% of you rent. Oh, sorry, it's not a tax, it's a "housing fee"
Count the same as your UK shop for food (if you're savvy), add the agent's fee of 5% of your annual rent, add car, schooling (if applicable), car, medical (not free here), etc, etc...
It's basically the same, if not more expensive to live than in the UK - and we were in London and/or the South.
