I'm looking for DUBAI based (expat) professionals from media buying agencies, or any other advertisng/media related field. Reason: I'd like to get their opinion about my magazine, which I'm planning to launch in Dubai soon. It will be the english language version of an european medical/health (consumer) magzine (for everydays people ) In my country it is a big succes, becasue we educate people about diseases, healthy life, OTC drugs etc. The magazine will be distributed FREE for everybody. We strongly need advertisers from different field: pharmaceutical companies, FMCG ( mainly cosmetics and food) mineral water, but banks and car dealesr as well. We will pay high commission for anybody, who can sell advertsing spaces in the magazine. Anyone has any idea?

I don't speak fluent Russian (or write it, I'm impressed with some of the multi talented people on this board ) However, I'm not trying to launch a Russian language magazine into the already crowded Dubai comic market. Good luck, you are going to need it.

On the upside, there are projects such as Dubai Healthcare City that make this sort of topic very current. The government health department (at least in Dubai) is also very active, but I don't know how how they spend their marketing budget.

The obstacle you face is that there are so many useless, spurious publications here, that many new, legitimate, good ideas get tarred with the same brush.

You've almost certainly considered this already, but as well as translating the magazine into English, you might want to ethnicise some of the photography. The majority population here is subcontinental and many of them are very interested in health (witness the letters to magazines like Friday) because of a crappy diet and genetic predisposition to diabetes. I have always felt that this is an untapped market.
