Dubai Marina Apartments Help Please
Hi Guys,
Just got back from Dubai , after staying at the Harbour (emirates Hotel) for 4 days, was lovely.
I need some advice please if you guys and girls would oblige.
I had a look at a few properties whilst i was there to gauge what i could get for my money and im looking for a 3 bedroom apartment , i have between 180'000 AED to 230'000 AED.
Looked at JBR and a few others but they are all so similar that im just not sure what to go for?
Ive also looked on the net at the Better homes site and there are places like the times, waves etc but wanted to know from people that actually live there.
Does anyone know of the nicer apartments around Dubai Marina, ideally id like to be near a nursery and/or school and a supermarket if possible.Want an apartment which has nice views and or is maintained well, some of the ones i saw hadnt been cleaned for a few years!
Am looking to relocate 1st September 2008 and am getting excited, not too worried about accommodation too much as im being put up in the emirates again for 30 thirty days but would still like to know where i should be looking for.
Hope to hear from you guys soon.

I have two friends who are both in JBR in three beds and love it, I haven't seen the apartments myself so can't comment on what they are like etc. One friend has two young children and there is a nursery opening up in the Marina this summer.

Al Bahar 1 in JBR has a nursery. Jebel Ali Village Nursery.
I've signed up my daughter there for two days a week and it looks really nice, also it comes well recommended.
The only downside is the cost (9k per term just for 2 days), however, not as bad as some I came across.
Just avoid any nurseries connected with Emaar, Raffles in particular, have not heard good things about them.
I have a friend in a 3 bed, in Sham 1 in JBR, really lovely apartment and very spacious.
As for security, you are right, mostly there for show only!

The original six towers (aka "Phase 1") is probably the "best" part of the Marina (yes, I am biased) and has a nursery and supermarket downstairs. There is also a real security service in the towers rather than so-called security guards who are mostly decorative.
You should get something for your budget in those towers.

Thanks for that, really helpfull info.
My son is turning 4 end of october, we are a bit worried that he is too young to join this september and too old to join a nursery as he's nearly 4 already. Not too sure what to do in the interim.

i just choked on my pastrami bagel..............
Yeah finding it really difficult to find him any spaces for FS1 and its a showstopper for me really.
Tried Kings and Wellington as apparently they are the ones nearest to Dubai Marina but anyone know what the nearest ones are near JBR and/or Marina Towers?
