Have just found out the there is a marathon in Dubai! Have been trying for the last 2 years to let a place in the London one and have just sent off another application, but now maybe I can just do one in Dubai instead!

But can't imagine running in the heat.

Are there many running clubs? Not very good at motivating myself and need kicking out of the door before I go.

Anyone want a running partner??

Not into running but when your out here , would be happy to have a gym buddie, a little toning is needed and would be good fun.

Jeez, I couldn't imagine running a marathon in any temperature, never mind with the humidity here. An hour of step kills me!

The Marathon is held in January and its in the am.........there is no heat whatsoever.....with the early start, u will be looking at temps of 11-12 degrees....so bundle up. its chilly.

As for training, there are loads of clubs and groups all over dubai.....there are the creek striders that i have heard of.......jog along the creek every other day.......and plus gyms can give u better tips on that sort of thing anyway. U cud even go for the climb up the flight of stairs at Emirates Towers marathon. Now thats a killer.

The Emirates girls give away the prizes at the Horse racing in the UK but o far have no inclinations to be a jockey.

A gym buddie sounds like a good plan.

I need to look into gym membership and things when I get out. They are always sooo expensive though. At least running doesn't cost anything!

depending on where you live there could be a gym in the building OR Wafi City Pyramids has good step classes...
