Dubai Dental Hospital

Hi guys,

First time poster.

I am UK national, UK graduated dentist with over 7 years experience and have a recognised UK specialist interest in Oral (mouth) Surgery.

I have been offered a job with a hospital in Dubai as a general dentist (in Dubai only those with a specialist title can do the mouth surgery job rather than those with a specialist interest which is the case in the UK). The package seems very attractive.

I was just wondering if anyone has any insight into what the working conditions inside hospitals in Dubai are like for a dentist compared to working in a dental clinic? I have tried doing research into this - overall the hospital has a good reputation, good patient reviews (for all departments, not specifically dental department) but am struggling to find insight into working as a dentist in hospital compared to dental clinics.

Any help or pointers in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Nazar

speaking as a patient the quality of dentists, surgeries and hospitals differ quite a bit (actually quite a lot ) so I would imagine in reverse the working conditions might differ a fair bit . It might be difficult to get an accurate answer without knowing what hospital. I now go to a hospital to see my dentist, who is UK qualified and from a patient perspective the facilities are excellent. Added to that I get treated for what I need and don’t get a sales pitch for tons of stuff I don’t need.

Hi, thanks for the response.

Yeah I can imagine there must be a big difference in the quality, as is the case anywhere! Totally get your point about getting treatment you actually need rather than a sales pitch - difference in cultures I guess.

The hospital, if it helps at all, is Medicare Hospital I'm Al Safa.

Thanks for any comments and advice!

Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with Medicare.
