I went on xmas day and boxing day down to Umm Sequim beach nr the burj and seemed fine, well no adverse reactions as yet... I think just steer clear of beaches near to the Offshore Sailing Clubby all accounts and you will be fine...

I go to the beach quite often, but I think it is too cold to swim in the water. I don't think it is dangerous, be careful your kids don't swallow any water though.

I go to either the Jumeira beach or the public beach right next to the Jumeira beach park.

The water seems fine. It's a bit cold, but I don't have a problem swimming in it after the initial minute or two.
